What I find most rewarding about design is the structured composition that results from the research, iterations, intentions, and the overcoming of failures. Each project allows me to apply what I’ve learned from past experiences to create a stronger composition than the last. Whether its my past experiences sending artillery rounds downrange for the military to the first sketches of the project brief, I find each opportunity provides something new to learn. I’ve learned to remain calm and composed when things get rocky, otherwise the road gets rockier. While the end goal is to create designs better than the last, the journey of learning and the people I meet along the way are just as important to me.
